Responsibilities of the Chief Internal Auditor:
The selected candidate will be responsible for managing the internal audit framework of FESCO, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and maintaining operational transparency. Key duties include:
- Evaluating accounting, financial, credit, and operational activities.
- Reviewing the adequacy and application of financial controls.
- Implementing internal audit programs to ensure financial transparency.
- Preparing detailed audit reports with recommendations.
- Leading and managing a team of audit professionals.
- Conducting special investigations as directed by the Board of Directors.
- Liaising with external auditors for financial and compliance audits.
Required Skills and Qualifications
The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong leadership qualities and in-depth knowledge of financial regulations and risk management. Specific qualifications include:
- Membership in a recognized professional accounting body (CA, CPA, ACMA, ACCA, or MBA in Finance).
- At least 10 years of relevant experience, including 4 years in a senior management role.
- Expertise in audit, risk management, financial compliance, and corporate governance.
Remuneration and Employment Terms:
- Competitive market-based salary.
- Three-year contract (initially), with a six-month probation period.
- Contract extension based on performance evaluation.
