Core Responsibilities of the CEO:

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will directly report to the Board of Directors and work in coordination with the Ministry of Energy (Power Division). The CEO’s role will be transformational, focusing on developing LESCO into a thriving corporate entity.

Key Duties Include:

• Strategic Leadership: Implementing governance and operational reforms in compliance with SOE regulations.
• Resource Optimization: Ensuring the company has sufficient financial and operational resources.
• Business Expansion: Identifying new growth opportunities through modern market dynamics.
• Operational Efficiency: Improving service delivery through innovative business models.
• Financial Management: Maintaining financial stability while ensuring transparency in procurement.
• Technology Integration: Introducing new business automation systems for efficiency.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring adherence to industry standards and government policies.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Minimum Qualifications:

• A Graduate degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent discipline from a recognized institute (HEC/PEC).

• Preference will be given to candidates with a Master’s degree in:

  • Engineering

  • Finance

  • Strategic Planning

  • Business Administration

  • Public Administration

• Membership of recognized professional bodies of accountants will be an added advantage.

Experience Required:

• A minimum of 25 years of experience in relevant fields.
• At least 5 years of experience as a CEO or in senior management roles within similar organizations.
• Extensive knowledge of governance, business administration, financial management, or commerce.
• Proven track record in power sector leadership, with a strong command over regulatory frameworks and financial structuring.

Remuneration, Age & Contract Period

• Salary: Market-based competitive package.
• Age Limit: Maximum 62 years as of the closing date.
• Contract Duration: Initial contract for three years, subject to annual performance reviews.
